Perk up Appetizer and Dessert-Recipes

I have compiled a list of delicious ways to add zest to your favorite appetizer and dessert-recipes. I have used them and you’re be amazed at the deliciously difference a few simple changes will make.

ADD ZEST TO YOUR DESSERT-RECIPES

· Substitute the water in a cake recipe to orange juice. The taste is fabulous

· For a lighter frosting, combine an 8 ounce container of cool whip to prepared instant pudding. Spread on cake layers

· For cake or brownie mixture, crumble your favorite chocolate bar in the batter before baking To create a richer taste for your brownie or dessert recipe.

· Make instant pudding with 1 cup of milk instead of 2 cups then spread between cake layers. This can be used in addition to the regular frosting

· To add flavor to vanilla wafers, melt semi-sweet chocolate with a dash of milk. Dip each wafer in chocolate, let set on waxed paper or baking rack. The kids will love them

· When making a graham cracker crust, sprinkle a teaspoon of cinnamon in the mixture

· To spice up your chocolate dessert-recipe, add a few teaspoons of perked black coffee to the batter

· Use a flavored extract in fruit desserts. For example, I use banana extract in my banana pudding recipe instead of vanilla extract

· Bake your favorite pound cake, then add semi-sweet chocolate chips to half the batter after pouring in the pan. This is delicious with a lemon pound cake.

Try different ways to add zest to your recipes by experimenting with a variety of recipes. You’ll soon be able to create delicious appetizer and dessert-recipes that everyone will rave about.

ADD ZEST TO YOUR APPETIZER RECIPES

· For a delicious combination, add ½ cup of sour cream to mashed potatoes

· To spice up your relish tray, try sprinkling flavored oil over sliced tomatoes, celery and cucumbers, then sprinkle with grated mozzarella cheese

· Purchase regular cheese spread and add 3 ounces cream cheese. Spice it up with a dash of garlic powder, hot sauce, and ½ teaspoon yellow mustard. Serve with crackers

· Add sweet relish and minced green onions to your deviled egg mixture, once eggs are filled, sprinkle with grated cheese

· To perk up plain saltine crackers, brush crackers with garlic flavored oil and bake in oven until crisp

· For a refreshing taste, pour lemonade in ice cubs and add a mint leaf inside before freezing. When cubs melt, your drink will not water down
